Born January 20th, 1922 Ray Anthony IS an American Popular Music icon – most notably as an incredible trumpet player, popular band leader, songwriter and actor.  He played in Glenn Miller’s Band in 1940-1941. Following a stint in the Navy during World War II, Ray formed and led his own very successful big band through 1998.  Some of Ray’s hits include “The Bunny Hop,” “Trumpet Boogie,” “Mr. Anthony’s Boogie,” and “Thunderbird.”  Ray was married to actress Mamie Van Doren in 1955 for a brief union.  At age 104, Ray is the last surviving member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
